Chances of improving gpa and getting into a good college

It’s probably too early to be worried about this, but I am a freshman this year and I have a pretty low gpa, 3.2UW. I may have been doing the math wrong, but it seems that even if I get straight As in all of my classes from sophomore to senior year, I will still end up with around a 3.7 gpa because of my grades this year, which I’m scared won’t be good enough for the colleges I want to go to. I tend to do pretty well on standardized tests though, so I’m hoping to get good scores on the SAT and ACT.

Is it even possible to get a high gpa by senior year with such a low gpa freshman year?
Would I have any chance at getting into a good college with this? (My dream school is University of Miami).

If you get good SAT/ACT scores and also do lots of extra-activities(clubs,sport,etc.), you’ll be fine!
Try to get really good grades during the next 3 years, and also take Honors and AP courses so you can boost your gpa(if you get As)
Don’t panic just keep up the good work!!
Good Luck

If I take the average of all 4 years’ grades:

3.2 freshman year
4.0 soph
4.0 junior
4.0 senior

I calculate a 3.8.
