Chances of making an ivy league? or UC?

First off id like to say that I understand how hard these schools are to get into. My sister has applied and I’m curious about her odds. She already chose a college, but say it is January and she is applying, what are her chances?
(She’s super smart, just lazy at times)

GPA: 4.4 (her school only has AP classes 11th and 12th grade)
Unweighted GPA : 3.9
Rank: Idk school doesn’t do rank
ACT: didn’t take it
SAT: 2400 (first try)
PSAT: 227

APs
Biology (5)
Chemistry (5)
Physics 1 (5)
Physics 2 (5)
US history (4)
Government (3)
Economics (5)
Calculus AB (5)
Calculus BC (5)
Computer science (5)
Psychology (5)
Her worst subject was always history, she never studied or tried. I would literally see her playing video games for hours instead of doing history.

SAT II
Chinese (790)
Chemistry (800)
Physics (800)
Biology (800)
US history (750)
Math 2 (800)

ECs
Marching band (4 years)
Section leader for clarinets (senior year)
Highest wind ensemble (4 years, 1st chair clarinet)
Various outside bands (Idk their names but they were like southern California level and you have to audition)
Lots of clarinet awards (Idk what they r)
Music club (4 years, secretary)
Science center volunteer (4 years, at least 300 hrs)
Internship at Microsoft (11th grade summer)

She is east Asian, middle income, straight, not a legacy (yes I know all of this info kills her application) the only thing that may help her the tiniest bit is that she is a female in engineering
She is majoring in computer science

I think she’s phenomenal. I’ve never seen someone take that many SAT IIs. Also, her 11th and 12th grade courseload sounds insane if you can’t take AP classes before 11th. I’d say she has a great chance anywhere. She was probably in some school clubs and/or played sports, which you haven’t mentioned. She probably would’ve gotten into 50+% of Ivys

@baller55 Aww thank you. The sad thing is she got rejected by every single ivy league. :frowning: I was just curious as to the community’s opinion

She will likely get into one or two… I hope she likes Cornell.

Berkeley: Match
UCLA: Match
UCSD: Low match

Where is she going to school?!

@Catria yes she was accepted by all those, but she chose to go to Carnegie Mellon instead.
@baller55 Carnegie Mellon school of engineering

Its good and bad. Its good BC I think its great that she got in a top school. Its bad BC they offer no financial support and its a private school so there’s no college fund left for me :frowning:

Amazing academic performance, however because she’s Asian, its a little less impactful than it might be.

ECs are not as strong as they might be, that’s probably why she didn’t get accepted to any ivys. They want to see devotion and passion for a certain field, and while your D does have a lot of music accomplishments, she’s not really signing up to be a music major…

@MasterPleb thanks for the insight. I just thought her 300 science center volunteer hrs and her Microsoft internship were good enough
Btw she’s my sister not my daughter
