Hi!

I have a weighted/unweighted gpa of 3.0,
I got 1970 on my SAT(including writing) & 770 on math subject test & 800 on my lang. test

My major will be Film and Electronic Media!

Do I have a high chance of getting in?

They don’t care about your subject tests. Your SAT is higher than the average, but your GPA is on the low side. It can go either way.

How can your weighted/unweighted GPA be the same? Did you not take any AP or honors classes?

yeah, i only took one honors class but i got a D on first semester and a C on second,
and I haven’t looked at my second semester of junior year’s transcript

Well how did you do on your second semester of your junior year? It may tip things in your favor depending on how well you did.

I’m in a similar situation, low gpa and a high(er) SAT. Currently a high school senior.

3.2 weighted and 1940 SAT (680 crit. reading, 650 math; retaking this October)
AP Enviro Science: 4
I’m taking APstats this year,

how are my chances?

edit: in state, from a (slightly?) competitive HS (temple city), 873 API score…

CSU Mentor & Long Beach’s site probably give more detailed info on the formula, but you realize it is much more difficult to get in if you are not from the immediate counties surrounding school, right? Stats have to be lower tier UC level for San Diego State and close to that for Long Beach if you are from NorCal.

CSULB and my high school are both in los angeles county, though on pretty much opposite ends.

i’ll dig through their site some more, thanks
