Cal state Long Beach

Hello guys !:) I have a 3.91 GPA. I did horrible on my sat and act. On my sat I received a 1290 and on my act a composite score of 18. What are my chances of getting accepted to csulb with a major in exercise science?

I think your GPA will give you a really great chance of getting in.

I’ve found that the CSU system favors GPA over test scores. But I’m no professional

Long Beach is going to look at your CSU GPA and only the M&R sections of the SAT. CSU GPA only includes college prep classes from 10 and 11, caps your semester AP bonus points at 8 and ignores +/-. They take the info and create an index. (GPA*800 ) + SAT M&R.

Got most people, the CSU GPA is .3-.5 lower than overall weighted but, calculate yours with this tool.

and follow these instructions for the Index
<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;

In state applicants for most majors need an index of 3800 +/-.

Assuming a CSU GPA of 3.6, you’d need an SAT above 920 or so. If the sccore listed above is just M&R, you should have no problem getting in. Calculate your index to be sure. If you are close to the line, be sure to have a back up plan.

For STEM majors they use a different formula but, i don’t think that includes exercise science.

Thank you so much :smiley: I really hope make it in :/
