I am a undergraduate transfer from Golden West College. I am applying for Fullerton for International Business program with a current GPA of 2.71. Anyone know my chances???? Currently enrolled in classes. Please help I need to apply soon thanks!!

Anyone ? ? ? ?

CSUs have borne the brunt of budget reductions and have to reduce enrollment meaning that since they are accepting fewer transfer students, competition for what spaces there are has intensified and for many CSUs you will need to have a GPA of over 3.0 to have a good chance of being accepted. If you are under 3.0 a lot will depend on where you are applying from, if you are in The CSU Fullerton service area you will be given priority and could still be accepted with a GPA of less than 3.0.

Thanks for the reply! I am in Huntington Beach about 20miles away? Also my parents never went to college, does that play a factor? Also by the end of Fall i think I will have a 2.8 GPA…what do you think?

According to CSU MENTOR, all majors at CSU Fullerton are considered impacted which means there are far more qualified applicants the major than the school can accept and higher than CSU minimum admission criteria will be required for consideration. I really can not say whether a GPA of 2.8 will be competitive or not. I think it would have been adequate two years ago but with the CSUs having to cut enrollment by 40,000 students a lot of applicants who would have been accepted in the past are going to be rejected now.

Being in the CSU Fullerton service area confers a significant advantage. Also, the CSUs are supposed to give priority to transfer applicants from CCCs over freshmen applicants. Unlike the UCs, the CSUs do not take into consideration things like being the first in your family to go college when making admission decisions.
