i am currently a sophomore in high school. Last year, my GPA was a 3.7 unweighted. This year it is a 3.9 unweighted, and a 4.1 weighted. I am doing a few AP and honors classes next year. But I am mostly worried about my midterm and regents grades. I was sick for my Spanish midterm last year and got a 76, but I earned a great grade in the class. My Common Core algebra regents were so hard, as you may have heard and I got a 73. Does NYU really look at midterm and regents exams? Does it mainly matter about your overall grade in the class?
As for activities, I am in my school drama club, student council, mission reps, writing club, speech and debate team, mock trial, I play piano and compete in NYSSMA, volleyball, and I do plenty community service and I also have perfect attendance ( not that it really counts).
I wouldn’t worry about your one mid term score. However, I would worry about the difficulty of your classes, as you seem to take easy ones. Also, you have a great list of ECs, but nothing that stands out from other applicants.
I got a 1200 on my PSAT, which I don’t think is that bad considering many girls did worse than me, and the highest grade possible was a 1560 I heard. And besides that no, only my regents.
