<p>SATs are a little weak for Plan II - could you boost that CR or W score up to at least low 700's? Rank is a bit iffy as well, but if you're lucky you may get in. GPA.. is that weighted? Your ECs are very humdrum typical. Anything you have that makes you shine? Something different, something unique, something that shows your passion? If not, go find something now ;D</p>
<p>Engineering, you may have some chance of getting into (although they like to weed out students so that only the best of the best remain after freshman year), but I have my doubts about Plan II because it's rather prestigious and they seem to like well-rounded people. I unfortunately didn't apply to either (got accepted instead to Turing/Dean's), so I can't give you full specifics.</p>
<p>No I'm not from Westwood. I am from Temple High School which is located 60 miles north of Austin. That is my unweighted GPA. I don't know anything that makes me "shine" besides the fact that I'm pretty good at math. I'm not planning on taking the SAT again. The Engineering Honors Program is very difficult as one of my friends from last year who graduated no. 3 in his class got rejected and he had similar stats to mine except higher GPA.</p>
<p>Your SAT's area little low for Plan II, although they aren't unreasonable, your class rank is fine and your EC's are fine. The most important thing is your writing. If you haven't applied yet really stress a love of learning for the sake of learning. Let that be the overarching theme in all of your essays. Find unique and personal stories that give a novel perspective to knowledge acquisition. If you can demonstrate a past history of uncommon love for knowledge and a propensity to continue pursuing the acquisition of knowledge you will get into Plan II. You won't get in if you say: Look I've got this SAT score, I did these EC's, I did this... I should get in right? That is precisely the wrong way to shape your portrayal, don't be afraid to be unique, in fact be afraid if you don't come across unique.</p>
