Chances of receiving a scholarship (anywhere)

Before I begin, I just want to make it clear that I don't need to get into any Ivy League schools or top tier schools. I just want to know if I have any chance at receiving a merit scholarship at a decent public school.

My stats are as follows: (I'm a junior now)
-3.44 unweighted 3.8 weighted cumulative GPA (almost all honors classes)
-I expect to keep a (weighted) 4.0 or higher throughout my junior year and into my senior year.
-This year I am taking one AP class and the rest honors, and next year I expect to take 3 AP classes and the rest honors.
-My SAT score will probably be between the mid 2100s and low 2200s.
-I don't have many extra curriculars except Varsity Track for four years (captain for 2) and the mandatory 90 service hours my school requires. I'll most likely be in NHS my senior year.

I need to at least get tuition and would like to go to a decent school. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I should apply and any advice on how I can improve my chances?

Check the scholarship info threads pinned atop the Parents Forum here.

Usually one's best chance of getting merit scholarships to public schools are in one's home state. Typically public schools like to give merit aid to their own taxpayers.

lol, i made this thread after reading the entire scholarship thread.

you're right about the home state thing- my brother got a full ride to the University of Maryland (home state) but he had better grades than I did.. (straight A's, lots of AP's, and a killer ACT score)
