Your SAT scores are right on the edge… I think if your course rigor is good enough you should have a chance

I’m not completely sure, but usually the Honors College looks for 1400+ on SATs (math + reading) from what they told me at the info session this summer. But you’re grades are really good and if you write a dynamite essay, you might be in. From last year’s postings, it seems that the lesser OOS scholarships (not full tuition) were given out to people with 1400-1450ish on the SAT… but it may have changed from last year, and Pitt doesn’t give a certain number that they look for when awarding scholarships.

They usually say around 1450 for the SAT or 33 ACT for scholarship consideration. They have given scholarships to stats less than that and they have not given scholarships to stats higher than that. Pitt has never stated exactly what it will take to get a scholarship. It depends upon what they are looking for each year and how much money they have available.

I would not worry about getting into the honors college as any Pitt student can take honor courses (you just have to get permission). The only perk to the honors college is the honors housing.

i took 5 honors courses, 2 AP courses and 2 college level courses in grades 9-11
this year (12th grade) i am taking AP US Gov, Psychology, Microeconomics and Statistics and college level finance, english and forensic science
