Chances of Transfering to Georgetown

I was just rejected by Georgetown a few hours ago. I was only 50/50 in my hopes to begin with, so I'm not taking it too hard. However, I still want to go there.

My Stats :

ACT - 32
HS GPA - 3.5
SAT 2 - Biology (680), Math 2 (650), English (680), US History (730)

I don't have anything in extracurriculars except for 1 year of Debate. This is due to health issues I had during my first 2 1/2 years of Highschool.

What should I do to prepare for a transfer : What level of School do I need to attend, What EC's should I participate in, When should I apply etc.

I was actually in a similar situation as you are only with a different school. My advice would be get as close to a 4.0 as you can your GPA is very important for transferring. As for EC’s I would say that is up to you, leadership positions always look good and community service but these are less important compared to your GPA. As for when to apply I would say the sooner is usually the better because of how they might transfer your credits, the last thing you need is to be halfway through sophmore year and trying to transfer and they only transfer over a fraction of your credits. I applied right away during my freshman year in hopes of getting in fo the next academic school year. Good luck.

Thankyou, do you know what schools or level of schools I need to try to get into in order to have a chance ?

It’s funny because I am actually wondering the same thing currently and am going to be calling Harvard admissions and NYU admissions regarding it. The easiest and surest way to find out would be to call the admissions office at Georgetown.
