what were your stats coming out of cc?

UC to UC transfer with your GPA doesn't look too promising...

please know that my mom had a tumor and she was hospitalized for much of the first quarter. when she was transferred home i sometimes didnt even go back to school just to care for her. i also had to hold down a job during the whole school year. based on those circumstances, i think they should be a little more lenient with me...

my stats: 5 years at CC, 3.48 gpa, 19w's . no sat, no act, math/econ major.

you situation is very similar to mine. my mom had cancer, i had no work, only one that worked in the family and only one with car, so taking her to chemo and making bills was on me, she didnt get approved for disablity until a year later.

malishka could you pm me your aim so i could send you my personal statement?

its the same as my cc name/. malishka31

bump one last time

any more insight would be appreciated :)

eh, nothing else to say cept work on them essays. you'd have a much better chance as a fall transfer if you can stand goign to UC hellhole for 2 more quarters and you bring up your gpa.

hobo check your pm

bump bump bump

Why didn't you just withdraw rather than getting a 1.0? While I sympathesize with your situation, it's not an uncommon one. I don't think you'll get into either with 2.45.

Mmmm, I have a similar question. I'm at UC Irvine with a 3.2, but I want to transfer out.....I'm looking at Berkeley mainly, but I'm not sure if my grades will cut it.

The really ugly part is that I've already finished sophomore year, and I'm slightly over the credit limit for transfers from 4-year institutions. I was considering taking a year off from school and maybe dropping several units (I heard this was possible from someone) and then re-applying, but I really don't know what my chances are and I don't want to take a year off only to find out I didn't get in.

bobby: it is explained in my personal statement that i was so busy taking care of my mom while she was hospitalized and working that i completely forgot about withdrawing. my mom's surgery my freshman year forced me to focus my attention on her in addition to working a little to help support the family.

duper, why did you post if you didn't want honest feedback? People have told you the same thing over and over. While I'm sure everyone feels bad about your situation whether or not forgetting to withdraw will fly only time will tell.
