Hello, I'm a junior in high school right now. Thank you in advance for taking time to read this. Currently I have a 3.5 unweighted and around a 3.8 weighted GPA. I took both the SAT and ACT early this year to sort of test where I was and I have planning to retake these test. I got a 550/680/530 for a combined 1760 in the SAT and a 27 on the ACT. I really want to get into UCSD and I know it's a bit difficult with where my grades are standing. But I go to a pretty competitive school where the API score is around 929 and the school population is around 400 students. I'm not sure how much the school itself affects college admission but if i raise my sophmore&junior weighted GPA to around a 3.9 and get my ACT up to a 30+, can I make it to UCSD? Btw, I'm also on the water polo team and swim team and have been in several an academic team and several clubs and is a member of CSF. Of all my grades in high school, all my grades are As and Bs with the exception of a C+ in AP Biology. I know I can still get into other lower ranking UCs, but what are my chances of getting into UCSD? thank you

Both your GPA and test scores are below average for UCSD.
UCSD: High Match

You need to raise your stats significantly in order to have a chance. 4.0W/2000+ is probably necessary. Take come CC classes to boost your GPA.

UCSD: High Match

UC irvine seems like more of a match, and it’s a pretty good school!
