I wrote my essay about my Tourette's. I feel pretty good about my essays

I did really badly the first semester of my freshman year. I even got a C+. But I really started to improve and got straight A's my sophomore and junior year. I took honors classes, but no APs unitl this year (my senior year). So the only AP classes I have on my transcript is AP Calc AB, AP Stats, and AP English for senior year. I'm really freaking out because I didn't take any AP classes my junior year, which is my biggest regret...it probably really hurts my chances.

I can only include five activities so this is what I am listing

Praise team:
-Played guitar/sang for church's praise band on Sundays
-Attended weekly Saturday night meetings.
-Taught me leadership skills
-Learned how to improve stage presence and work with a team
-Allowed me to collaborate with other musicians

Tutor
-Taught guitar to small group of neighborhood children (11th)
-Tutoring cousins every Monday night in the subjects of math and English (12th)
-Volunteer for Imagine Housing as after school tutor for low income students (11th)
-Taught me patience.
-Helped improve my ability to explain situations

Work
-Sales associate at clothing store, Aeropostale
-Taught me problem solving skills
-I used to be uncomfortable with talking to new people, but working in retail has helped me to more easily open up to unfamiliar faces

Church Summer Camp Volunteer
-Teacher for elementary students during annual two week summer camp
-Improving ability to deal with difficult situations
-Developing leadership skills

YouTube
-Videos of myself playing guitar and singing covers and originals
-YouTube partner
-Gave me freedom to share my music with the community and receive feedback

Should I replace YouTube with Dance team? I was only on dance team for a year. I put youtube on here because I thought it was unique...
Anyways, let me know what you think!

I think what you’ve listed is fantastic. It shows that you’re a well rounded student and that you work well with others and can collaborate on different ideas. Being a sales associate further solidifies that. Your E.C’s also show you’re a leader and involved in the community which is excellent. I think your high school transcript is good for this school. The admissions officer will notice that you were willing to challenge yourself and sacrifice a couple of A’s. I think that your essay topic is great because you can talk about how you overcome adversity everyday which is awesome! overall you sound like a well rounded student. I think you have excellent chances on being a Husky!!

You have very solid stats for this school! Also, admissions will like that you improved your GPA over time, it shows that you are very hard working! I think you have a great chance and best of luck to you!

I think you have a pretty good chance of getting in! Your GPA,SAT score, and your extracurriculars are great.I’m sure you’ll get in especially with solid essays!Good Luck~

thank you! do you think it’s okay that i didn’t take any ap classes my junior year? it’s my biggest regret…this year i am taking 3 ap classes (calc, english, and stats)

I don’t think it’ll hurt your chances that much. The rest of your profile is pretty solid especially your extracurriculars. You have a rigorous senior schedule,so don’t worry too much.Best of luck~

You’ll get in. I’ll be surprised if you didn’t, I even think your states are quite amazing for UW. Both your SAT and GPA is high enough to get in.

thanks! but don’t you think it really hurts me that i didn’t take any ap classes until this year? I’m taking three now for senior year, but still…sigh.

Colleges always love to see an upward trend, so I think that your GPA is great for UWash, as are your test scores. I’d call it a low match maybe? I definitely think you’ll get in!
