Chances of..?

I'm starting a local school here in the fall, actually in about 2 weeks. All throughout high school, I was laid back and didn't care about anything. Now I'm the opposite, I WANT to get out of here, unlike during high school. I no longer want to be in this area. My question is what are my chances of transfering to a 4 year university after just one semester? My senior year I graduated with around a 2.5gpa, missed an average of 5 days a marking period, failed 2 classes freshman year (art and earth science), other then that, I made it by with basically C's and B's. Although, I never took the SATS, so I'm sure I'd need to do this also. I'm ready to start fresh, I wish this would of hit me earlier, but I'm afraid I'll end up with nothing, and to me it seems like you can't go far without at least a BS degree.

I want to do complete my fall semester, and apply for as a transfer student, but I'd basically just be starting my Spring semester, but I figured I could use my Fall Semester grades, and interim report from my Spring semester as a guideline. I'm from MD, so I was looking at places like Frostburg, Stevenson, Salisbury. I'd rather attend a smaller school, but most of these schools transfer requirements are a GPA of 2.0 - 2.5, and may possibly look at lower GPA's. Do you think it's possible for me to transfer after just my fall and some spring semester? Or should I wait til a full year or 2?
