<p>Does anyone know what the typical chances are to get accepted off of a waitlist? (particularly Dartmouth)</p>
<p>Better than a snowball's chance in hell, but not very good. Usually as waitlist letter will tell you how many were accepted in past years off the WL and also give you an idea of how many are on the WL to start with and/or accept a place on it.</p>
