Chances on Cornell vs. BC transfer

I'm an undergrad at Virginia Tech and I applied to transfer to Cornell and BC for Economics. Has a) anyone heard from these schools (I read the posts that decisions come out this week for Cornell)

Stats
GPA- 3.55-3.7 (my high school changed the calculating system when I was starting my jr. year so our grades could be calculated different ways and it depends on how a school weights things)
HS - 1300 SAT
Rec- high school teacher who is now a superintendent of k-12 district, coach of my FED challenge team (placed semi-finals NY district), rec was strong

College
CGPA 3.65
Est. Mid term Grades- all A, A- or B (in Engineering Calc, but VT is an eng. school and I'm an Econ major so it's considered good to be in that math track)
Rec- from the undergraduate director of econmics, strong rec, i have the proff for antitrust and regulation (a 3000 level class) and it's mostly jrs and graduating srs

Essays- I mean I guess they were good, I tend to think essays are pretty standard in general, because you present yourself in a positive light

EC's- model un (representative in georgetown), intramural sports, face to face (a national program about current events), vollunteer for YMCA, tutor, vollunteer for career services...

...so has anyone been accepted to either of these schools in the past (Cornell CAS or BC) and do I seem like a competitive canidate? thanks for reading/any advice :-)

i have applied to cornell too, havent heard from them. this week probably.

BC has a ridiculously low acceptance rate for transfers. i think it's 13 percent, but your accepted GPA is only slightly lower than theirs (there's was a 3.7 i think) I think we have to wait about another month to hear from BC (SO.AGGRAVATING) I feel you.

Really? On there website I believe they say above a 3.5 is competitive. I thought the 3.7 was for frosh. But then again, I get so confused with all the stats, its impossible to remember it all..

and it really is aggrevating. I would love to go to cornell, but I don't think I have a good chance of getting in.

I remember BC said 3.55 was the avg. GPA was last year's transfers. So you're in good shape for BC, dunno about Cornell, but it'll obviously be tougher.

cornell decisions are out this week? or is that for gt only?

^I am wondering the same thing.

Shaganov: At least you got one response...

Thank you! I am jealous. I have been dreaming of visiting colleges for so long...

i had heard they were due out this week, but by no means is this official information or anything :-) let me know if anyone knows... and do i even stand a CHANCE at getting in
