Chances on NYU CAS?

HI!
So I'm a senior in high school.
I'm Asian but I lived my entire life in Mexico. So yeah not much of the Asian lifestyle.
But I've been told it's harder to get accepted if you're Asian ! (stupid stereotypes)
Anyway I want to get into NYU Stern but my stats are really bad? SO I thought about applying to NYU CAS?

GPA: 3.0 UW
SAT: 1900
ACT: 34
Extra Curricular: Club Rotary, Student council, cheerleader (2 years), dance (jazz 2 years), volunteer work at SPCA, art club, and work.

Be honest and thanks

It's the only school I truly want to go to.

hey,
i dont want to be mean but your gpa might be a bit low, but your ACT scores are good. it seems like you are very well rounded and i think NYU likes that. I recommend maybe taking the SAT II if it is not too late to prove your academic skills. Just nail your essays to maximize your chances for now.

Ive alread applied (CAS) through early decision and im nervous as hell

No chance! 3.0 GPA is very low! It’s like applying to Harvard with a 3.0 because NYU is a new ivy! Get your GPA up to a 3.5 the least then you have a chance. Remember as soon as NYU sees a 3.0 GPA on your application they are tossing it! It’s the way all good schools work. I would try to apply to less competitive schools. Best of luck.

Your GPA is low, but you don’t have “no chance…”

You have a fantastic ACT score. There is little to take away from what you described, as you didn’t go too in-depth, but I’d say you have like a decent chance if you submit your ACT score instead of your SAT score.

I’m somewhat in the same boat with a 1920 SAT and 3.3 GPA. But you have a 34 on your ACT which trumps your 1900 big time. I wouldn’t even bother sending my SAT score if I were you. Just send your ACT. What you have in your ACT score is what I have in my EC’s. Your ECs are kind of low compared to the majority of the applicants but I still think you have a chance. I’m gonna say it’s a bit of a reach but that doesn’t mean you have no chance whatsoever. Hopefully we both get accepted into CAS! Good luck!

Also there’s a lot of other factors. Being able to pay full tuition is a big thing.

I currently go to NYU Stern, i do think your GPA is a bit on the low end but like what everyone else said, your ACT is great. It is definitely more competitive to get into NYU Stern than some of the other schools within NYU. NYU Stern may be a stretch, NYU CAS is more doable. FYI, I know a lot of people in NYU CAS that ended up with great jobs in business, if that’s what you want to pursue. best of luck, feel free to message me any questions you may have
