I have a low GPA around a 3.0 pushing below weighted. Needless to say, it's horrible. However, I have been taking gifted and AP classes my whole High School career. AP World, AP Psych, AP English, and I did not pass the AP US exam. However, this year I am taking AP Statistics, AP US Gov, AP Macro, AP Human Geo, AP Literature, AP Comparative Politics and possibly re-doing the AP US History (I got the harder makeup version last time).

I took the SAT and got a 1920 Overall. 1350 Reading and Math with a 570 Writing. On my first try. I have yet to take the ACT but plan to do so. I have been in the gifted program since kindergarten and have an IQ of around 140, sadly this doesn't help with my work ethic.

I am becoming involved with my schools philosophy club, debate team and maybe some more. I placed 1st in the Central Florida Business Ethics Competition my first time competing and received a scholarship to FIT for $32,000. My father is an alumni from UCF and was #1 on the Tennis team with a full ride for many years. I am also working on doing some community service this year.

Overall, I just want to know my chances on getting into UCF with a really bad GPA, but Good SAT possibly SAT and such a high work load and rigor of courses. I will improve my SAT and will be taking the ACT, and the way my classes are panning out it seems that I will pass all the AP exams this year and get mainly A's in the classes if I work my butt off.

Will this last ditch effort of getting really great grades in an almost all AP filled senior year save me? Thanks

Edit: I did the calculations and I would pretty much be a sophomore going in...also, for applying. When do I apply? Can I change it? Do I wait for my first semester grades? For me to retake the standardized tests?
