Chances of getting into FSU, USF,UF,UCF?

So my problem is that I do not have very good SAT scores. My grades are really good now though. I am now a senior, and last year I "got serious" about school. I used to get A's B's and some C's because I didn't really care. In my Junior year I started to care, got straight A's for most of the semesters, and no more than one B in like 2 semesters (both times were in math). I also took 3 dual enrollment classes and two AP's which I got all A's in as well. I joined key club, and was elected (and won) the office of "Editor." I also ran for National Honors Society Secretary and won that as well. I got back into softball (which I hadn't played for in yrs and yrs) and I have plenty of volunteer hours. My weighted gpa shot from a 3.6 to a 4.8 last year, and I know my unweighted is at least a 3.4 but I think it may be a 3.5 or 3.6. This year I know I can get ATLEAST a 5.0, and by the end of it I will of have another yr of softball, 4 more dual enrollment classes completed and one Ap. I plan to get straight A's once again. Sorry this is kind of winded, but my problem is that my SAT scores SUCK. I have only taken it once ( will be taking it again soon ) but my scores were...

Reading- 560
Math- 350
Writing- 520

I know that I can get my reading up to atleast a 600, but my math is what I am scared about . I know that it will be virtually impossible to bring it up into the 500's let alone to the 450's but I will try my hardest.... math has always been my worst subject.

I also can't get into the program that some of my friends have gotten into for like "underprivileged students" that have good grades, but bad test scores vise versa because my mother has a degree.... but I don't come from the best financial situation and my mother has been a single mom forever. I am black and live instate if that matters also. Didn't pass the AP tests last yr but I know I will pass the one I am in this year.

Anyways I mainly want to know my chances for USF and FSU (even though I want to get into UF but I know that is HIGHLY unlikely) with the test scores I have... or with some improvement in them, mainly in math. Or if you have any comments, tips, insight or anything of the sort feel free to let me know... ohh and also feel free to let me know what you think about the other colleges also, I was just telling you my main prospects as of now.

Thanks in advance!

pleasee help lol

It’s going to be really really really hard to get in with that math score. Do you think you can get a tutor?

I’m going to do what I have to do. My mother is really good at like all subjects so I guess she would help me and I’m going to try and use a lot of resources (books, online, school) I guess.

Anyone else ?
I’m kind of upset because I’m smart and capable of succeeding in a good college. I just have a mental block when it comes to math and it may ruin my chances of getting into university. It sucks that there aren’t programs for people in my situation just because my mother has a degree. Ugh.

In the world we live in, math is KEY. U need to bring it up. And when I say bring it up, I mean AT LEAST 500 for USF and UCF, 550 for FSU, 600+ for UF. Unfortunately, the schools would have accepted or declined u before u take that last AP test, so really that one doesn’t matter ): My sis got into G Tech with an 1800 (albeit, she had a 3.88 GPA unweighted), so let that be your goal. I thnk UF is a little out of reach, but FSU is still possible if u just work hard.

Thanks. I will try my hardest.

Right now all those schools are probally out of your reach with that math scores. Raise it at least 100 points to have a chance at USF and UCF and maybe 200 points for FSU. UF has gotten really competitive so that is really unlikely.
Maybe try FAU or Florida Gulf Coast?

Maybe you can try the ACT, too. And I’d say to take some advice from the SAT/ACT forum on strategy for studying.

Thanks ! & I will definitely look at that thanks for letting me know.
