UCLA: Match

Truly, you never know with UCLA. I know someone with a weighted 4.7 (on a 4.0 scale) and 1430 SAT who didn't get in last year, and someone with a weighted 3.7 and 1280 SAT who did. If there is anything in your background which would indicate that you are in any way underprivileged, play it up to the max. That's how many, many students get in here. While most private schools are purely about numbers and top ecs, UCLA is all about giving people with potential a chance, so your numbers (which would indicate that you have a good shot) are not given as much weight here as they would be somewhere else, despite the formula for admissions. Therefore, essays are very important. Write one that strikes the admissions staff the right way, and you will be a strong candidate.

with all those film-related EC's, i thought for a moment that you were going to apply as a film major.

Im sure the dealine has already passed, but with those film ECs you can definetly try for the film school. But, you seem to be a match for UCLA. Solid numbers, good EC's...now you need is good essays and youre in.
