Chances @ Penn, Stanford, WashU, Vanderbilt, Tufts

Having submitted my apps, I'm having a post-submission panic attack. I was wondering if you CCers could look over my stats & whatnot and give me a quick eval for UPenn, Stanford, WashU, Vanderbilt, and Tufts? Thanks!

Chinese-American (Chinese-born, 11 years in the US, bilingual)
Academic interests: neuroscience, foreign lang & lit (east Asian + Latin American)

Numbers:
School rank N/A @ competitive Seattle private school
GPA: ~3.6 unweighted
SAT I: 800 V, 790 M, 800 W
SAT II: 660 Chem, 780 Spanish, 790 Math IIC
APs: Spanish Lang & US History - 5

Awards/honors: National merit semi-finalist

ECs:
Asian Student Association: Leader + Community Service coordinator
Literary magazine: Art editor + Web director
Swim team: 2 varsity letters but not participating this year
Volunteer tutor: ESL + Spanish
Summer '05: global service/volunteer learning trip to China - competitive application, on-site research of ethnic minority & environmental issues

Essays & recs: solid, I think? I'm not good at evaluating these.

My main worries are that I do not have many ECs or awards & that, given my area of academic interest, my SAT II Chem is so weak. In addition, a lot of students (v. highly qualified, too) from my school apply to the same colleges, so er, I'm thinking my panic is justified. (I've got a safety in University of Washington since I'm applying in-state, buuuut. :D)

The thing that hurts the most is the 3.6 unweighted. Do you have a high rank? Nice SAT I though. I'd say you're in at WashU, Vanderbilt, Tufts. Penn would be a slight reach and Stanford is going to be tough.

Wash U is a reach to match. Your SAT I scores are tremendous, but the lack of ECs and GPA will kill you.

UPenn and Stanford: Big reach
WUSTL: reach-match
Tufts: match
Vanderbilt: safety-match

I'm just going by statistics and how each school weights EC's and stuff (i.e Stanford = Big EC school).

What are my chances 4.2 WAvg 3.95 UAvg.,30 ACT, Five Varsity Letters, three clubs, 2 National Debate Championships, State Debate Championship business schools at Texas(Austin) , ILLinois(Urbana), Indiana(Bloomington), Wisconsin(Madison), Michigan (Ann Arbor), Case Western, Boston, New York University

lesca, your gpa is probably going to hurt you the most so upenn and stanford are going to be reaches, wustl and rest matches

good luck at everything but tufts. just because your sat is freaking awesome doesnt mean theyll take you in this day and age.

join some clubs, yo!

Tufts is harder to get into than vanderbilt. I am saying this statswise and not just because I am going to Tufts. Haha.

i concur. they are probably about the same. tufts is sometimes underrated.
