Chances, Please? Asian Female from NJ

I will most definitely chance back now that I know what a pain this was to type out.* ;)

I was just deferred from Georgetown so I'm getting a little nervous about my other schools.

I love every school on my list (a lot of people wonder why I have so many reach --> because I would love to attend PSU or Rutgers as much as Yale or Columbia. They're all so different, it's hard to compare.)

I applied to the Engineering schools for biomed engineering (eventual pediatric neuro-oncologist! hopefully), if they had them, and A&S for bio if not.

SCHOOLS:
Rutgers New Brunswick
Penn State University Park (then Schreyer's Honros College)
Villanova - just accepted EA yesterday!
Washington U in St. Louis
Georgetown - deferred EA
Columbia
UPenn
Yale

Essays: personal essay was the risk (about my passion for attending sporting events - sounds cheesy/lame, but real sports fans might understand where I'm coming from)
--> All of my essays were really... passionate(?). Well, I wrote all of them from my heart (wow, this is sounding cheesy), but they're all really genuine and true reflections of who I am.

Congrats on Nova. Rutgers is a lock. Yale, WUSTL, Columbia and Penn are all reaches (if for other reason than the acceptance percentage). Not sure about PSU.

Thank you so much for your reply.

No worries, I’ve always known those were reaches (although my guidance counselor told me Rutgers was a fit/reach… slightly offended by that one).

I was over at the Yale SCEA EA thread, and I always feel bad seeing such qualified people being turned away. =( Although it’s those same people who get into other schools and do amazing things so hopefully, the disappointment is fleeting.

"a lot of clubs make me look like I’m doing it for the apps "

I think it would be best if you wrote an essay explaining why you joined so many clubs. That way admission officials would understand you better.

I think you are a lock for penn state and rutgers, match for Washington U in St. Louis
