GPA 3.75 weighted 3.4 unweighted 3.3 UM

Competitive private (Jewish Day School) Connecticut. School does not rank.

Verbal: 690 Math: 640 Writing: 680 therefore V & M = 1330 Total: 2010

Student Government: President - senior year, officer - all four years

Manager Varsity Boys' Basketball team - all four years

Soccer team: player (undistinguished) four years - captain senior year

Political campaign worker four years - leadership position

Recs will likely focus on my strong leadership skills and perseverance

Reach... GPA is very low and SAT does not make up for it by any means

definitely a reach, especially if you just submitted your application. If you haven't submitted it yet, you're probably screwed.

Submitted Oct 13

I'm not familiar with the 4.0 scale, but if it translates directly to percentages then your GPA isn't so good. They generally look for above a 96/100, probably even higher.

I got a 1320 (2100) SAT, and I got in, so you should be okay there. Writing is not as important (SUCKS because I got a 780!).

Your ECs are good enough. No issues there.

I assume your recs will be fine. What about your essays? Did you do your absolute best on them? Are they original and do they reveal things about yourself?

It also depends on whether you are in state or OOS, which you didn't mention. Admission for OOS is tougher.

Oh, one more thing, I submitted mine 10/10 and I think my school sent my transcript and everything on 10/18. I got the decision about a month later... you should probably double check to see that your application is 100% complete.

----------------60%-----------------

I'm from out of state

30%.

OOS, below average test scores, far below average GPA
