What do y'all think?
Please reply soon...thanks!

You're in...

do you go to TJ?

No...James River...near Richmond

We're practically a prep school for UVA...

haha james river. goooo football.

yeah don't worry. i'd say you're in.

100 kids w/ 4.0? how big is your school? That sounds more like grade inflation than prestige, but I don't know.

Is it the case for anyone else's HS that the only kids with 4.0s at the end of HS are the ones in honors classes?

We have about 200 students....

I don't think its grade inflation. The phenomenon has only started in the last couple of years. No other school in our county (which all has the same weighting system) has similar issues.

Last year's graduating class set the record for the highest GPA in the history of CCPS...

We have 2000 students, rather.

And i mean last years class had the highest AVERAGE GPA of any class in our school system's history.

Ours isn't quite THAT great (they had 160 4.0's), but its still pretty amazing.

You're worried about getting into W&M with those stats- IN STATE? Geeeez. haha

I have simliar stats, but OOS..and am applying to W&M! Good luck

The only thing that worries me is my class rank, but when I had an interview, the guy knew my school and told me they couldn't really take that into account as much.

Good luck, by the way, Czech

You're definately in.

bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbump

bumplicious

what is this "bump" thing. i'm new, yes...

it's weird. what does it mean?

basically its just a generic message to put your thread back at the top

because they're listed in order of latest posts

bump...sorry...i'd like at least a couple more opinions...

I got deferred!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This has officially been the worst day ever.

Aw I'm sorry!
Here's what you do. Keep doing very well in school. Win a couple more awards. Volunteer in another country or help the disabled. And turn in anything new to william and mary. If you keep doing well, I'm sure you'll be accepted in April.
One thing that might have been a turn off for w and m is your recommendations. You shouldn't have gotten a senator. Just because he looks has a good office doesn't mean he knows you well. Colleges actually dislike recommendations like that. You should have had your closest teachers or other adults write your recommendations. I know this one girl who started a recycling program at school with the principal and the janitor. Her greatest recommendation was from the janitor. Though he was spanish and didn't have the best grasp of the english language, he truly conveyed his feelings about the girl. They had a deep friendship, and the janitor wrote about how kind the girl was to him, etc. Every college would love that. She got into 3 ivies. You can't get that type of recommendation from someone you interned for. I guess it's too late now.
Anyway, cheer up, and good luck!

he knows me very well...i didn't just intern for him...i spent 4 months working side by side with him and his staff

I read his recommendation. It was amazing.
