Chances? Please help!

I'm currently a sophomore in high school and I'm an aspiring Ivy League student.

In middle school, I was extremely immature and did not focus on school at all but instead, I focused more on making friends. Even in 9th grade I was immature and constantly bullied for my religion (went to a strict Christian school as a Catholic; had nowhere else to go) and thus I didn't receive the "greatest" grades. This is my schedule and my marks:

Biology H: B/B
Spanish I (did not offer Spanish I H): B+/B+
U.S History H: A/A
English I H: A/A
Inner Man-Spirituality: B/B
Physical Education: A/A
Algebra I: B/B

(most rigorous available, except for math)

Now I go to a new school after barely surviving the hell I went through last year. Over that summer, I realised what I wanted in life and I made a complete turn around. But here's the thing; I know that most students (esp. at my school) take Geometry in 9th grade. Well, in 8th grade I was immature (like I said) and did not take Alg I. Not only that, but I sucked at math and was in an easy class. I screwed up big time in my middle school years and it followed me (talking about math) into my high school years and I'm really freaking out. What should I do? I'm really concerned and I need help! I just..I'm so freaked out!!!!!!!!!!

My grades, so far:

Geometry (possibly moving to honors next year; maybe not): A-
World History H:
English II H: A+
Chemistry H: A-
Weight training/Psychology I: A+
Faith & Tradition/Prayer & Spirituality (required, no honors available): A+
Spanish II (Since I took U.S History last year, which is a 9th grade course at this new school, I have to take World History this year. So it's sorta switched around. Thereby, I have to take regular Spanish because my history course is a 9th grade class and my chemistry class is an advanced junior course. So I'm stuck.) But anyway, A+

(Very demanding)

Extracurricular activities:
JV Volleyball, Science/Environmental Club, Astronomy Club, Key Club, Peer ministry, Varsity Soccer, National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, Varsity Softball, Shadowing Veterinarians at a local animal hospital, Reading tutor, United Way volunteer, ASPCA volunteer, Research on Aquatic Medicine at the FLAquarium

They won't let me complete Alg II over the summer so I can get on track mathematically for next year and be in the honors pre-calculus class So this is my schedule next year:

Physics H
Spanish III H (now that my history is all sorted out)
A.P. European History
English III H
World Religions
Health & Life management skills/Law Studies
Alg II H w/Trig
AP Environmental Science

Extracurricular activities: (I can't really speak for leadership positions except in my own club, because I haven't gotten there yet.. ..I'm only in 10th grade)

JV Volleyball, Science Olympiads, Future Veterinarians of America (founder & president), Key Club, National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, Varsity Soccer, Varsity Softball, Shadowing Veterinarians at a local animal hospital, United Way volunteer, ASPCA Volunteer, FLAquarium Green Team, Reading mentor, Junior educators program (local aquarium)

(most rigorous available, except for math)

and my senior year as follows:

AP Biology
AP Spanish Language
AP Government & Politics/AP Microeconomics (or economics honors)
AP English Lit & Comp
Peace & Justice
Speech & Debate
Pre-Calculus H

Extracurriculars:
Varsity Volleyball (no JV for seniors), Science Olympiads, Future Veterinarians of America (f & p), National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, Key Club, National Science Honor Society, Varsity Soccer, Varsity Softball, Shadowing Veterinarians at a local animal hospital, ASPCA Volunteer, United Way Volunteer, Reading tutor

and if I get accepted...UPenn YSP

(most rigorous possible, except for math)

I'm very involved when it comes to extracurriculars, and I'm working as hard as I possibly can to get straight As and get into my dream school, which is Dartmouth. I'd also like to go to UPenn.

Please help me out! Bump bump!!! I'm dying here! I HAVE to get into Dartmouth!!!! Thank you!!

So no one is willing to say anything? Please? Bump!

Most people say your GPA should be a 3.75 and above but i think if your relatively close you should be fine, ask your counselor to tell your your unweighted and weighted GPA and see were you stand now. SAT are a big factors most ivy leagues say that a competitive student should have around 2100(CR+M+W) but again if you are a couple of points away dont stress it make sure you start studying and you actually being behind in math could actually work towards your advantage for SAT Math, most people in the more advanced math courses forget the simple basics and screw up. SAT math only goes up to algebra 2 anyways and its not even indepth algebra 2 lol. Go to the college board website and do the SAT question of the day for practice. Start thinking about subject test you can already take them see which ones you think you would do better in and start getting those out of the way fast so you dont have to worry about them later. you should get around a 700 on each subject test to remain competitive dont take them lightly. You have plenty of time to get on the right track just stay focused and aim for straight A’s. also make sure you dont waste your summer find an internship, summer program, maybe you could even do a summer program at an Ivy league school, my friend did one this past summer, we’re seniors now, he did one at one of the top schools in the nation Carnige Mellon and took a course on Differential equation Calculus lol, i did a summer medical program at the University of Miami, we actually got to work on real dead bodies and exam organs( i want to be a doctor) do stuff like that take Dual Enrollment courses. Look for things that will make you stand out thats what is really important there are some people that when they apply are great students but sell themselves short and dont get in because they dont stand out of the tens of thousand of application. Everything you do in highschool counts church events, community service, sports, summer programs, Just stay focused and start planning now :)

Currently a sophomore…?

Everything is hard to predict, especially the future.

It is unpredictable. I suggest to get the best grades possible from now to when you apply, and get at least a 2200 on the SAT cause Princeton’s average SAT score is about 2230. Are you good enough to be a recruited athlete? If so, then your chances increase exponentially. A student a few years back got into Princeton for soccer and he only had a 3.5/4.0 and a 1900 SAT score, which is obviously much lower than the average.

The only thing I would advise to you when choosing a college is not to choose the college for the name/prestige. Go where you feel like you will do the best.

Good luck.

Hey guys!!! Thank you so much for your answers!!! I have already started studying for the SAT. I have the Sparknotes SAT Math level I book. I actually love math; that’s what people don’t really understand. You can give me a geometry problem, and I will have a hard time with it; but if you give me a chemistry or advanced alg. II equation, I will be able to solve it (for fun I looked at the Princeton linear algebra final exam online and actually got a few of them CORRECT!!! I was really happy.)

I am really working hard. Thank you  you guys ROCK!!!
