Chances please! Nontraditional/Military

Another dreaded chances thread! I'm wondering if I should even consider myself competitive at JHU but I think I'm going to apply there anyway, as well as Georgetown, George Washington and American University. My major would be international relations. A lot of what I'm hoping to offer is leadership experience through my military background, as well as language skills and overseas experience.

Anyway, here are my stats:

I didn't do so great in high school. I'm hoping to be able to explain some of that in an essay.
High School: GPA (Weighted): 2.56

Two community colleges - one in Illinois, the other in Kentucky.

IL CC: 3.56 GPA (Took one honors course, should have taken more)
KY CC: 3.6 GPA (They didn't offer any honors courses although I was interested)
No SAT or ACT scores needed.

Strong teacher recommendations and essays.

-Utilized linguist capabilities and counterintelligence skills to enhance effectiveness of a Naval Special Operation Forces mission conducted against a High Value Target
-Conducted and assisted English language training with host nation teachers and students
-Speaker for "International Women's Day" Festival - part of speech appeared as a highlight on BBC Radio

Counterintelligence Agent, United Stated Army Reserve, Fort McCoy,
Rank: Sergeant E-5

EDUCATION
-Defense Language Institute at the Presidio of Monterey, CA
Pashto Course Graduate, 47 week long program, very difficult

If they don't have you, it's their loss. I'd love to share a classroom with you.

Aw, that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Thanks :) Hopefully they'll let me in. Only time will tell...

Imho, and I hope the majority of adcoms agree with me, academic success is a poor measurement of actual intelligence and potential. If you've managed to pull serious projects off in real life, this says far more of how you'd perform as a student now than mandatory schooling grades from back then.

I can't imagine why a school would reject that kind of experience and maturity...not to mention how interesting I'm sure you are

wow O.o...your life must be very exciting =D

Mmm....not really anymore :) I'm just in the same boat as everyone else trying to get into a good college that will hopefully offer me the chance to keep my life packed full of interesting resources.

BTW, I forgot to include my Activities section:
