I was just wondering what you guys thought my chances were to get into Northwestern.
I am in 11th grade currently, took 2 AP's in 10th grade, 3 in 11th and am going to take 6 senior year. Also, I will take some over the summer to help my ranking go up.
Right now I have a 3.71 GPA and weighted I am not sure of, but my ranking is like 56/556 which is top 10%. I take all honors and AP and get all A's besides about 5 classes.
I plan on taking the SAT soon and I was just wondering with my gpa 3.71 and rising what scores do I need?

56/556 is not top 10%, but you are a good candidate

What kind of classes are you taking? NU likes to see students who challenged themselves with taking tough classes in h.s. Overall, you probably need at least a 2000 to be competitive in NU's application pool, unless you have some outstanding hooks. 2100 or better would help your chances, and 2250 or higher would really up your chances. But by no means does that mean you're a shoe-in if you get that high of a score. You'll still need to keep great grades and write strong essays in the application process.

well i may be missing top 10% this moment, but my rank will go up dramatically becuase of the amount of aps and honors i am taking i am taking 3 this year, 2 over the summer at a college and 5-6 senior year. I take ap language, ap us history, ap chemistry this year and next year i will be taking ap spanish, ap literature, ap government, ap economics, and two more tough aps that are available, but i have yet to decide. I write for the paper and next year I will be a page editor (not chief editor because I moved from ny to florida and was not able to do 4 years on my paper) and i am the secretary/treasurer of mu alpha theta and i am in national honor society and national science honor society.

i am taking the sat in march for the first time and not including the writing i was thinking northwestern would take like 1420-1450? should i also take the act?? and i am taking 3 sat II's this year tha ti want to get over 700 on..any recommendations?

your AP classes are very good, 1420-1450 on the old SAT is a fine score for northwestern, and you might as well take the act, if you do badly on the SAT you can send that in instead, some people do really well on one and badly on the other.

what is the lowest possible score on the SAT to remain competitive in the applicant pool?

i wouldn't know, i'd feel pretty uncomfortable personally with anything below a 1300, with your gpa, maybe 1350 or so.
