Chances Please!

Hi, i am out of state and UCLA is my dream school.

UW:3.28 :[
W:3.96

SAT:
M:670
CR:600
W:630
1900- will retake. plan to get over 2000

ECS:
Soccer for about 7 years
High school team-4 years
captain of high school varsity
captain of club team
Ambassdor club-community service
Triva club
programming club
Co-founder and President of a non-profit called N.E.T.S

I am aware my gpa is horrible.
My SAT will improve to over 2000.
I am also aware that UCLA gives more leeway to out of state
students in recent years due to budget cuts.

I was also wondering if there is a min. gpa to apply to UCLA for oos?

It’s gonna be tough with your GPA but if you get that SAT score up and write some really good essays, you have a decent chance since you’re pretty involved. I think the minimum out of state GPA is 3.2 (correct me if I’m wrong) but I know for sure that the in-state GPA is 3.0. You can look at this link and see everything and look at the admission stats and where you stand.

Thanks for your reply! anybody else?

GPA is low and SAT needs a little bit more work. Your E/C’s look pretty good on the upside. BaussMan is wrong about the GPA I’m pretty sure… cuz it’s typically harder to get in to a UC from OOS than in-state. So you’ll have to stand out in your application. Also, race plays a factor even if they say they took out Affirmative Action.

Thank you! Any other thoughts please?

GPA is way too low. Likely reject.

UCLA is a reach. Both GPA and SATs are a bit below the curve.

You should always apply anyways; there is a chance.

Edit: I’d say chance is pretty low, but still possible.
