I can get steller recommendations from my teachers and counsellor. I hail from a really small town and infact I am the first one to apply to US univs for undergrad studies. I have started working on my essays. Also I won't need any financial aid.
I am thinking of applying to these univs.

Thank you for reading that incredibly long thread. Please reply.

Great stats …and great chance everywhere!

Btw which region are you from?
Its better not to presume that you are the first one to apply

Also , what do you mean by getting money from community?

You’ll get in for sure at at least one of the top schools with scholarship. Cheers!

I can’t state ‘the region’ where I come from because of identity disclosure issues. Sorry if I am being to cranky but I was strictly suggested - “Don’t reveal anything on CC.”
And I am the first one to apply is not merely an assumption. The collector of our town has ordered records of anyone applying internationally for Studies. 182 students went on for Graduate Studies. Only last year one girl went to Hong Kong for undergrad so that makes me the first person to apply to US univs from my ‘region’. The collector is a family friend and he has promised that if I get selected to any of the univs I apply he will sponsor my education on behalf of the whole town.

By the way money won’t be an issue even if I’d not get anything from the collector. It just occured to me - should I apply for need based financial aid to the need-blind institutions (Ivies excluding Cornell). Always better than a favour.

If you don’t require aid then you have a great chance everywhere

@Mathsoul Even at Harvard? I think need blind univs don’t consider aid in admissions aid. So if I don’t ask for aid at harvard I have a better chance?
