Chances please?

<p>Me: Hispanic female from Chicago suburbs
School: Very competitive, public, 3200ish students
ACT: 33, taking SAT and SAT IIs in the spring
GPA: UW: 3.5; W: 4.06</p>

<p>8th grade high school credits: Honors 2 Spanish, Art I, Honors Geometry
Freshman: Honors Alg II, Honors English, Honors Spanish for Native Speakers, Honors History, Honors Biology, Photo I, TV/Radio Production
Sophomore: Honors everything (no AP classes offered)
Junior: APUSH, AB Calculus, AP Spanish for Native Speakers, Honors Physics, Honors English (no AP English for juniors), Honors Advanced Journalism
Senior [signed up for]: Honors Senior Studies (specialized class offered by my school as English, history and community service credit. Intensive reading/writing/community service/sociology combination), AP Psych, AP Spanish 5, Honors Sociology, Honors Advanced Journalism</p>

Have worked at a restaurant for almost a year now...about 15 hours a week.</p>

<p>I'd say you have a very good chance, considering your slightly above average ACT and ECs, not to mention the fact that you might be classified as a URM (Under-Represented Minority).</p>

<p>Just make sure your essays are pretty good, and if you took the writing section of the ACT, you might want to not mark Emory as a recipient for your SAT scores until you know how well you did. If you did well, pay the extra $10 or so and have them sent. It'd be worth it to control whether or not Emory gets your score. If you didn't take the ACT w/ writing or you plan on taking the SAT multiple times, you can't really use that. And BTW, Emory puts virtually no weight on SAT II scores.</p>

<p>You're not a shoo-in, but you're well on your way to getting accepted.</p>
