high school junior. chances??

<p>as you can tell from the title i am interested in any ones opinion about my chances of acceptance.</p>

<p>junior at FL public high school
male
hispanic (puerto rican)</p>

<p>class rank= 54/483 11%
gpa= 3.5/4.0 UW 4.4 W </p>

<p>every academic course honors. AP bio sophmore yr (5), AP chem jun yr (would be dissapointed with less than 5), AP amer hist jun yr (probably 4)
senior schedule is all honors w/ three AP's (stat, Calc BC, Physics)</p>

<p>sat2 biom= 760, taking bioe, am hist, and chem after AP tests.
sat1= 1430 CR=690 M=740, getting score service and planning to retake </p>

<p>played varsity soccer 2 yrs until jun yr. and baseball until graduation and possibly able for div3.</p>

<p>national honor scoiety member, and over 100 community service hours at summer baseball camp for kids.</p>

<p>notes: coasted freshman and 1/2 of sophmore yr. now very dedicated and recieving highest grades. visited emory last summer w/ my dad and plan to visit again w/ mom.</p>

<p>thanks for any input advice or criticism. i'm curious as to whether or not being hispanic helps or being active in sports. thankyou.</p>

<p>Your stats are very good (even with the gpa - it always looks better, of course, that your lower grades came from freshman year) - plus being Hispanic is a definate plus since colleges tend to try to add diversity to the school and, historically, Hispanics have not applied as much as people from other ethnic/racial groups.</p>

<p>keep the GPA rising, take the ACTs, and get into the top 10% of your class and you're in. right now i would say probably</p>

<p>Yeah I think your chances are good. Bring up the class rank to seal the deal.</p>
