i think you have a really great chance because your grades improved with time, your SATs are amazing, your SAT IIs are amazing, and you just have a lot of amazing stuff going for you

make sure your essays were AMAZING. And i hope to see you next year

Your UW gpa is somewhat low compared to other Indian males applying to Rice but if your essays are strong, you have a good chance.

Thanks for the replies!

I wouldn't say my essays are astounding or the best things I've ever written, but they are pretty good. I realize that my GPA will hurt me, but I quickly brought my grades up, so that should help me at least a little, right?

Also, I forgot to add an achievement: my class won our statewide "We the People" competition and we will be competing in Washington DC for the nationals in April. I submitted my app before I got this achievement, but is it worth telling them? My math/sci bowl team also has a very strong chance of winning the state competition next month, and if we win we get to go to Washington DC for that as well. Do you think either of those are important enough to sway the decision?

my guess is that your in mate

Thanks again for the responses! Any more thoughts?

chances of admission mybe 60 percent

I just got my semester report card today: all A's. This brings my GPA up to 3.79 and rank at about 10 or 11 out of 273. Any new opinions?

You have pretty legit chances. Good scores, ecs, etc.
