i’d say u’ve got a pretty good chance if you bring your SAT up…try to take AP psych through ncvps or another online site if u can…

thanks JG! why do you think I should take ap psych though ncvps instead of self-studying it? Oops, and I spelled comparative wrong in my post!

Any other thoughts?

well, just the fact that unc can see that ur actually taking the class would help… also, i’m taking it online now, and it’s an easy A as long as u do ur work :D…

I mean, I’ve already been self-studying it for awhile now, and I can’t just start taking it online this time of year. Next year I know I will not have time to take it online, and I thought it would look good that I took the initiative to self-study an AP that wasn’t offered at my school…

are u taking the ap exam this year or next?

I’m taking the AP Psych exam this year

oh okay, gl…
just try to get mostly A’s first semester next year and bring up ur sat and u’ll get in np

Everything looks great to me…your SAT score could actually get you in as is, but I would retake it to be sure. My friend (white female from NC) got in with a 1780, but if you raise it, you could be a scholarship candidate. :)

Good luck!

thanks so much blairb91!

any other thoughts?

bump 10 char

I would say that you have a good chance, since you are an instate applicant. As long as you raise your SAT to like 1900ish… then you will be golden.

PS: LOVE LADY GAGA =)

thanks mcvcm92! I’m definitely going to try to raise my SAT and in addition, I’m taking two SAT Subject Tests.

I went to a competitive high school probably very similar to yours (except my class had around 525 students). I know that at my school, basically the top 10% of our class was accepted to Carolina every year, plus a few others with a lower rank but other strong application elements. Since you’re barely in the top 20%, you should definitely try to either improve your class rank so that you fall in that top 10% or improve your SAT score significantly.

leah377: i’m trying to get my class rank up, but i’m afraid i will not be able to get it up to the top 10% :(. and yes, without a doubt i’m trying to raise my SAT score higher!
