I'm a male student from Public High School in WA.
I've recently read learned about Holy Cross and feel it would be a good fit for me.
Although I haven't had the opportunity to have an interview, I've tried to express interest.
Stats:
GPA: 3.58(UW)
ACT: 25 (Bad test taker)
SAT: 570 CR, 570 MATH, 590 WRITING
EC'S: Rec Basketball, FCCLA, Key Club, VP of Ping-Pong Club, Track and Field, Part Time Job, Leader at a Day Camp during the summer.
Courseload: Partial IB (4 IB Classes)
ETC: Grades show a strong upward trend, I'm white, I was told my common app admissions essay was excellent.

Thanks!

Another question: How much does being Catholic help in the admissions process?

Have you applied yet? The deadline is 1/15? Certainly, not interviewing will hurt you As your stats are low for HC. The most important item they (and most) schools look for is the weight of your classes and 4 IB classes is not to weighty, sorry. SAT scores are low …I would not submit as HC is test optional. Being Catholic does not factor in to the decision. What other schools have you applied to?

If you are in the top 10% of your class, you will get in. If not it will be a reach.

Wow, we basically have the same GPA and SAT scores.

Just try showing a lot of interest. Join online chats (I’ve been to 2 already pretty helpful) or try emailing the admissions office if you cant come for a tour.

Thanks for the info. I have been showing interest through various emails and such. Another thing, I’m actually taking 4 IB classes per semester. Not 4 total in high school. Does that help my chances? Thanks again! I’ve applied to UW, Willamette, Kansas, Santa Clara and Wake Forest so far.
