SATs are unimpressive for GU (M + CR being much more important than W).
Your curriculum looks challenging, but much might depend on how your school is regarded and what part of the country you’re from.
You will be competitive, but I’m thinking it’s a bit of a reach, unless your SATs go up and your SAT Subject Test scores are great.

I disagree with WCAS. You are in the middle 50% for applicants with those. GU is looking for alot more than kids with just 780’s and your scores are definitley good enough and reflect positively along with your GPA. Let’s face it, it’s a crapshoot getting into any of the top 25 major universities or LAC’s…just blow them out of the water with your essays and show a dedicated interest…the rest will take care of itself if you do your very best. Coming from a Catholic HS shoudl help you out as well.

@ WCAS, my school is pretty well regarded. Last year’s valedictorian went to Wharton, this year’s was EA accepted to BC and UPenn. We’ve also had Harvards and Yales in the past. I agree that the SAT scores are not the best for this level of school, and are admittedly lower than what was expected with my GPA.

I always hated these chances threads - please remember to take everything that is posted here with a grain of salt. Otherwise, they can really make things unpleasant.

Georgetown doesn’t consider the SAT writing score (as you probably know), meaning that you need to try and boost your Critical reading score by as much as possible. Study over the summer, buy review books, whatever it takes - ideally, you want to get it into the 740+ range.

You have obviously worked hard, and this shows. Your academic record is very strong. Emphasize the depth of your extracurricular involvement in your essays; if you have any leadership positions, etc., emphasize those. Make sure to SHOW and not TELL things about yourself when writing your essay. Good luck!

peters: This year’s valedictorian at your school, how was he/she accepted EA at BC and Penn? To my understanding, Penn only offers ED and BC offers Restricted EA, where applicants cannot apply to any ED programs.

he may have gotten a likely letter
