real good chance! excellent stats! it all depends on your subjective qualities like your essays and whatnot. don't say darn about being an Asian male! it doesn't help, but it doesn't actually hurt your app.

Not picking you out personally, but it's very disturbing to see people put comments like 'darn' next to their ethnicity. It's like saying "If only I could've gotten MS so I could compete in the special olympics". It's ridiculous to regret or even question whether or not you will be accepted for something out of your control. At this point, if you can handle the work, then why honestly care whether or not a school accepts you based on DNA.

Well, I'm not a typical Asian-american. I was born in Bangladesh, raised for a good part of my childhood in Australia, and now lived in the US for ~7 years.

JagsSoccer44, uh...i was just saying that it sucks that I'm asian because it'll probably hurt me more than help. I want to go to MIT, so why shouldn't I care if they accept me or not? But thanks for the comment.

Vivi, regional finalist is actually a level higher than semifinalist.

I'm concerned because you say you don't think your essays were that good. Your stats are obviously very good, but so are a lot of peoples'. Your essays are the aspect of your application that should really set you apart.
