<p>I'm not exactly sure what a 31 ACT would translate to on an SAT scale, but would say you have a very good chance, although would say, in general, legacy works best in conjunction with ED. However, if you're looking to one-up your mother and grandfather by applying ED to Dartmouth or Williams, I would still think you would probably get into Colgate RD.</p>
<p>I saw a chart the UC schools put out that said a 31 on the ACT = a 2100-2150 on the SAT.</p>
<p>I would try to figure out what it is on the 400-1600 scale to see where it fits versus Colgate's posted avg because I get the sense most schools aren't weighting the writing section as importantly. I know there's some conversion scale on one of these threads or certainly via Google.</p>
