Chances ruined?

Hi, I'm a sophomore at Hampshire College, and I just took a class at Amherst College in calculus. The first test I got an 86 in, which is okay, but the last test I got a 67 in... and am wondering if its worth it to drop the class and take a W. The teacher seems lenient towards pulling your grade up, but if I drop the class I'll only be taking two classes this semester... which is bad.

I want to go to graduate school by the way, for neuroscience (a top tier school hopefully). I think I could pull it up to a B if I tried really hard this semester. So what's better, a B in calculus or a W on a transcript?

If anyone had any advice, that would be great.

B is alot better. Chances are the prof curves and you can make it into a B+/A-.

I'm with Blah. In my freshman calc class, the average midterm grade was a 29...out of 100. There'll probably be a curve for your class, too. But even in the worst case scenario, where you have indisputable proof that your classmates are outright reaming you, a B is still a decent grade.

It's also important that you take calc now so that you can take diffeq, waves, thermo, and pchem, or at least some combination of those, which will be useful to you as a neuroscientist.
