Chances so far? Please

Hi all,
I'm a junior right now and I'm starting to really get into college searching after months of just scanning. I haven't taken the ACT yet but I'll be taking it twice total. The question I'm really asking her is what score should I be shooting for in regards to the following info?
I am an Illinois resident, and attend University High School in Normal. I've been told that makes a difference in my applications but I don't really see how. They don't weigh my GPA so right now it is 3.725. I have been taking a lot of core classes (not a lot of electives like art or music) but in regards to AP I have taken U.S History my sophomore year and this year I am taking Literature. I plan to take AP Spanish and Stats.

I am also taking the highest level of each class you would expect of a Junior. For example, I'm in Spanish 4 right now as well as Pre-Calculus (semi-difficult course load, not the hardest). In terms of outside of school, I have been on the swim team since Freshman year and this year I helped form a Diversity club at my school where I believe we will be doing some community service. Other than that, I have nothing else to offer on my application.

That is why I made this thread- Does anyone have any advice to help me improve my chances of getting into UIUC? ACT, School, and Extracurricular wise? I really want to go... Just saying. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!

On the ACT I think you should shoot for a 28, but it really depends on which college you apply to within UIUC. Just check out their website to get a full list of stats on their students

Thanks for the advice!

Just for future reference, I’ll probably be applying to the College of Business for Marketing or the College of Media.

And my composites on the EXPLORE and PLAN were 18 and 22 respectively. I know they aren’t great but I didn’t really grasp the importance then.

If you can, try to get an internship during the summer. Its something I wish I had known about and done.

Do you have any suggestions for where I could try? Like in general.

I have seen people in my class that went through the Microsoft high school program, other than that I’m not sure. Try looking for some online =)
