<p>You need to push those SAT 1 and 2s up 100+ points each(total) to stay in the running. I take it you aren’t an ED candidate. Everything else is good.</p>

<p>Although SAT Is are important toward admission to Amherst, they won’t make or break a candidate, especially not one with a 2130. Higher scores are always desirable and increase an applicant’s likelihood to be admitted, but they are considered alongside his or her personal and academic accomplishments–Topgun2010 doesn’t appear to be lacking in either.</p>

<p>Oh Kwu, I actually agree with you on this one, except that there are so many applicants for each spot, higher scores do matter, all other factors being equal. My S with higher scores, IB program and similar activities was wait-listed last year, so I am giving the best advise I can to this outstanding candidate.</p>
