chances thread... Am I being REALISTIC?

Hey guys,

I'm an international student from hungary applying for a transfer and I know davidson is a GREAT school it is by far my no.1 Choice. I would have applied as a freshman but I knew I didnt stand a chance because of my low grades in high school which is a direct result of personal problems at the time. I took a gap year and started uni, and now that im passed those problems my grades have significantly risen, will they accept that justification>? anyways heres the stats please chance me!

STATS:

International Student, Do NOT need any financial aid.

My high school grades were week but my uni grades are very strong with an extremely tough courseload, 10 subjects and 42hours of class per week. My average is about a 4.3/5.0 which is extremely good here.

High school I.B. - Chem 4Bio 5Eng 4Economics 6french 4Math 4

Took a gap year and did voluntary service work in Israel.

Tons of extra curriculars and did work with the U.N.
I am australian, born in australia then lived in lesotho for 4 years, in south africa for 6 years, switzerland for 5 years, spent 1 year in Israel (was in haifa during the war, so I have heaps to write about in my essays) now I live in hungary, so i have lots of diversity.

I also played Rugby for 4 years and have a few awards for that. Team came second for U18's.

well? anyone? i have the same question. how did that gap year turn out for ya?

gap year was amazing... best year of my life... and it wasnt partying at all... it was all about learning. i learned more in that year than I did in 12 years of school.
