This is my first post so bare with me :) Just a struggling smart junior who wants to know his options.

GPA UW: 3.1 W: 3.3?(Not sure my school doesn't weight)
Rank: 96/380 Public school
SAT: 1350/1600 & 2000/2400
Math: 730

RC: 620
By the time I graduate I will have taken 4 APs, APUSH, Computer Sciences, Calc BC, and Physics C: Mechanics (Haven't taken any tests yet)
Also by the time I finish I will have taken 8 honors
Senior year I will going to Penn State Abington and taking their introductory engineering course for Penn State credits

EC:4 years varsity tennis
4 years club Ultimate frisbee
Committee member of my schools Dance Marathon for cancer
4 years of Cancer Awareness club

In my synagogues youth group
Last summer I went to Northeastern Univ as a part of Summer Discovery and took an engineering course there and got college credits for that
Participated in the NACLO test, good chance I get called back for round 2
I continuously take Math League quizzes and get perfects almost always

Here is my list of schools and I am from Pennsylvania. I would LIKE to go into engineering directly and possible have a double major of Aerospace and mechanical engineering, but I know my GPA is terrible so if I have to apply for general education and transfer in I can.

Temple (My father, mother, both grandparents, aunt, and my brother have all gone there. My brother will be attending their law school this coming year)
Penn State UP(Will the course I take senior year have any effect in this decision?
University of Delaware
Rutgers NB
UConn
Drexel
University of Pittsburgh
RIT
Virginia Tech (2 cousins went there)

My uncle is on the board of Lehigh University and he regularly donates, should I even bother to apply cause of my low GPA or will this give me a chance?

Temple- Match
Penn State- Match
University of Delaware- Match
Rutgers- Match
Drexel- Match
UPitt- Low Reach
RIT- Low Reach
Virginia Tech-Match
UCONN- Low Reach(Engineering)

I live in CT, and UCONN engineering is very difficult to get accepted to, I went there for a tour a few weeks ago, and they said that it is much more difficult than the real school. I believe the main school, not engineering, is a match.

Lehigh, since your uncle is on the board and donates, you may have a chance.
I would recommend Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Boston University

Temple-match
Penn State UP-possible
University of Delaware-possible
Rutgers NB-match
UConn-match
Drexel-match
University of Pittsburgh-low reach
RIT-not sure
Virginia Tech-low reach

I think most of the schools you have a good chance for but if you increase your gpa to at least 3.5 you have a better chance at the lower reaches. Your SAT scores are very good though and that will help you a lot.

Temple - I think you’d have a really good chance at Temple, due to the legacy.
Penn State UP - You’d possibly get in.
University of Delaware - Not sure.
Rutgers NB - Not sure.
UConn - Match
Drexel - You have an okay chance of getting in.
University of Pittsburgh - Not likely.
RIT - Not Likely
Virginia Tech - Not likely.

Also, senior year, try to maintain B’s. I know some colleges that will decline a student who was previously accepted by that college.

Temple- Match for sure
Penn State- low reach/match
University of Delaware- Match
Rutgers- Match
Drexel- Match
Uconn- Reach for the engineering program, but it could come down to yout essay.
UPitt- I don’t really know
RIT- I don’t really know
Virginia Tech- low reach

Not to be harsh, but your numbers are pretty low.

Temple- Match
Penn State- mid-high reach
University of Delaware- Match
Rutgers- reach
Drexel- reach
Uconn- Reach
UPitt- reach
Virginia Tech- reach

^ Agreed. henrymoore, there’s no need to judge him so harshly. A 2000 SAT score is actually a very good score compared to the mean, 1500. His rank isn’t too shabby either.

Hahahahahahahahahaha henrymoore listen just because i didn’t take 18 APs and got all 5s on them and got a perfect SAT and got a B+ in gym, doesn’t make me inadequate. I like a nice balance of school and girls. I had the best time in high school, you didn’t.

Wilkey listen
You are not inadequate, AT ALL.
1350 SAT will make you inadequate, but obviously I have problems with my vision.
A 2000 is a great score.
