Please Comment Below
If you want to be recruited for water polo, you may want to apply to schools that actually have teams! I know off the top of my head that Peddie does not, so I would check into the others. The only one on your list that I know anything about in terms of wopo is Loomis.
I mean’t to say hotchkiss instead of peddie can you please tell me the chances of getting into these schools as a pg
Hotchkiss has a very good diving and swimming program as well, might want to take a look at he program. It’s only about a 30 minute drive from Salisbury.
The only thing that worries me is acceptance from all of the schools listed I currently have a 3.2 gpa and I got a 1290 on my sats.
Salisbury doesn’t have a pool or water polo program.
Does anybody else know any good bs waterpolo programs besides the ones listed above ?
Suffield has a pretty successful boys water polo program as well- I know somebody who was recruited for water polo at Suffield and he had a good experience.
Someone else might correct me such as @AppleNotFar, but I think in New England it was Brunswick (dominating day school), Exeter, Andover, and then Loomis this year. If wopo is really your thing, shouldn’t you be heading west for your PG year?
I would rather stay east because it is close
Have you checked out the rosters at the colleges you are interested in attending to see which schools the current players attended? Might give you some leads. You can also run a search on the boarding school review website and filter for schools by region, sport and pg program.
In terms of supporting your applications, I think several posters here would recommend that you contact the coaches—and not just the wopo coaches—your diving could be a strong hook too!
I am aiming more towards the hill school I know their water polo team is strong and I know a bunch of kids who played at the collegiate level also they did well academically. I just don’t know my chances for acceptance.
