Chances to get accepted for transfer?

So I applied for spring transfer and I didn’t get accepted, I was thinking about reapplying for the summer/fall but I don’t know if it would be a waste of my time/money, just looking for some opinions.

I’m going to major in physics
I have my Associate of Science and plenty of hours to transfer, but my gpa is really bad at around 2.6 due to several bad classes I took which is my fault I know, bad decisions that I regret

I know my chances are pretty awful, but do you think it would even be worth trying to get in for the summer/fall or I was suggested to try and get into St. Edwards University and finish up my B.A. there and raise my gpa in the process. My longterm goal is a Ph.D in Physics. Any opinions are appreciated

I go to St Edward’s University. I love the school very much. The campus is beautiful and the professors have been fantastic thus far.

Be warned, it can be pretty costly, which is why I’m trying to transfer to UT as well.
