Hello!
I’m relatively unsure of how this is going to work. I have a 3.2 unweighted GPA, mucked around in freshman year, have a ACT score of 34, will have taken 8 AP classes, was president of a out of school club, have participated in several other clubs (none too successful or important, but hey), in state-recently moved-student, exponential grade rate, mom is a former alumni and I wish to major in physics, I only have about relatively ten hours of community service, severely dyslexic (tests to prove), relatively good writer ( ironic enough, just wrote this down as indication of a likely good essay) and finally, a dedicated fencer. I’m a relatively very good fencer, not amazing, but fairly good, at least enough for unc fencing team. Know Duke fencing coach assistant, several former and current UNC fencers, and will practice with, as soon as it’s possible to drive to, uncs fencing team, I’ve already spoken to uncs fencing coach before, and will likely be able to get recommendations from Dukes assistant fencing coach as well as Uncs head coach. So, what do ya think? Sorry for poor format, writing from phone is kinda crappy.
It’s hard to predict. Your GPA is lower than most applicants but your ACT is high and if you show an upward trend then that is good. You should apply, but as you know, also include other less selective schools on your list as UNC is unpredictable.
Yeah, I have relatively good reasons for crappy grades, which I’m sure I can attempt to explain, and I have several backups ready to apply to.
