Note that the notification time is December 15th, which is in less than a month.

After a look-through, I’d say your chances aren’t all that great. You have good extracurriculars but I see that your academics aren’t looking all that great. Granted EC is your best shot, you’re pretty much taking a huge gamble here. Although the EC acceptance rate for this year is probably around 38-40%, which is still much higher than that of more competitive schools, such as Brown, Cornell, Stanford (EA) and MIT (EA), JHU’s standards aren’t any different for ED applicants, meaning that you still have to be on par with the other applicants unless you’re hooked.

I’d say you have a 25-30% chance of admission.

Also, on Collegeboard.com, it says the notification time is Early Jan., the 15th to be specific! Im not sure if that would have any say with anything?

I agree–your chances are OK. Yes, you have a lopsided SAT score, but overall your grades/SAT scores are in the range of accepted students. You are also instate, and male, which should help your chances.

I live in Northern VA and a lot of people I know go to JMU, and I would say you have a pretty good chance. @John is right that you have an advantage being male, and your GPA is good. A lot of my friends got in with lower stats that were male, but who knows, it seems like a surprising school when it comes to admissions.

Thanks! yeah i have a few friends that got in with lower sat and about the same GPA so i just wanted to hear it from someone else. Im like 23-24% in our class too

You have a very good chance. My brother got in with a 3.3 and 1900 SAT. (but that was also three years ago) Did you ever hear back for early admission?
