the number of international students is capped via
an admissions system that reserves places for Quebecers, then other Canadians. The percentage of the student body comprised of admitted American students enrolled has been 15% in 2004, 11.7% in 2005 and 12.4% in 2006 while applications have increased by a higher percentage. Interestingly, the non-US enrollments for other international students has remained in the 9.3-9.6% range.</p>
<p>I think it's a bit harder for Amerians since they look at GPA and SATs, whereas they only require GPA for Canadians. It helps if you have good SATs but if you don't...well..
Also, McGill is a public University, I think that's like state universities in the US like the UC. They'd choose Canadians over Americans if it comes down to it I think.</p>
<p>they have to. in order to remain a public university funded by the quebec government they have to have a certain percentage, something like 70% i think, canadian students, and within that a certain percentage from quebec.</p>
