Hi guys, I'm new to the forums here and I was just wondering if anybody knew what my odds were to get into Ole Miss as a transfer student. I'm currently a community college student in California, I've got about 20-30 units of transferable work under my belt with a little over a 3.0 gpa. Had about a 3.0 gpa all through high school. I'm planning on majoring in either political science, econ, or accounting. Could somebody give me a ball park as to what my odds would be? Preferrably someone who's from Mississippi or goes to Ole Miss? I know there's particular classes that have to be taken as a transfer and I haven't fulfilled all of them yet, but I should have it done in the next semester or two. Thank you for your help!

Hey! I’m new here, too, welcome!
Well, I’m not from Mississippi but I have a lot of family down there in Corinth (I’m from St. Louis) and I absolutely love Mississippi. I would say with your stats you have a really good shot at getting in. I know about 5 or 6 girls from my high school (I’m a senior) who just got accepted to Ole Miss and honestly, they’re not the brightest bulbs in the box… AT ALL…
I think you’re good to go :)

Thanks for the help Dusty
Do you have any idea what your friends’ gpa’s were? I know it’s a bit different when you’re transferring in, but a ballpark would give me a good idea at least. The campus looks really nice and I’ve heard they have a great accounting school, which is a major I’m interested in. Thanks again for the confidence booster :)

No problemo, glad it was of some help!
I can’t say for sure, but I’d estimate that the majority of their GPAs would be around 3.0ish on a higher end?
The campus is gorgeous, that’s for sure! And they definitely do have a great accounting school, and also a phenomenal graduate law school.
Good luck Eddie! :)

I think you could get into most southern publics with a 3.0 in transfer credits.
