Chances to transfer with a 4.0 GPA?

I go to a fairly average university-DePaul, and I have quickly realized it is not the place for me.

In high school I was a really mediocre student. However, since then I have worked really hard my first year of college and have managed to get straight As even though they were in mainly intro 100-200 level classes.

Ideally I would like to transfer to Northwestern or somewhere in California~Berkley perhaps.
My only issues is financials. At DePaul Im on a scholarship and full financial ride due to very low income. I heard transfer students receive less money but I was hoping with a 4.0 it would continue.

First off, would I be able to get into Northwestern with strong college stats compared to fairly weak high school stats?
As well as, what are my chances to receive financial aid as a transfer?

Why don’t you make an appointment with the Transfer Admissions Officer at Northwestern, and pop up there for a visit? That person can give you a ball-park notion of your admissibility, and can inform you about Northwestern’s financial aid policies.

The public universities in California rarely give any aid other than federal aid to out-of-state students. They will almost certainly be unaffordable for you. Cross them off your list right now.
