Can you tell me what are the CHANCES of getting in University of Michigan - Ann arbor CoE in ME/EE ?
Please please..... poor/strong....good to go......please tell me....

when did you got your decision for winter and when did you applied ??
Thank a lot....

so this is an infamous “Chance Me.” this is the most ■■■■■■■■ thing ever as no one on this site knows your chances of getting into anything. so why even wast your time telling complete strangers personal information and asking for their input on your chance of getting in? just such a waste of time

No it really isn’t. I mean, I am not a fan of chancing but people want reassurance that they have a shot (or perhaps honesty when they have absolutely no shot).

3.8 at Michigan CC. Sounds solid. Apply and find out. I think you have a good chance. Look at profiles of accepted students from your CC.

I got in with a similar gpa (community college was 3.7 transfered to a university and ended up with 3.9 there and then transfered again to uofm ann arbor mechanical engineering)
In orientation they showed the gpa range of people attending from transfer into coe; I dont remember exact numbers but you’re in there somewhere.

They wont really look at your hs record since youve already been to college (maybe if you were borderline but I dont think you are) and they wont care about the act either for the same reason (dont send it; it’s not required).

I’d say pretty good.
The EE program has higher gpa req than ME; im not sure if that means it’s harder to get in or not if you’re above req though. Anyway choose the one you think you’re most likely to get in since transferring between depts is very easy; they also have a dual me/ee program that you can switch to if you go ME (probably EE too).

I think the essay is fairly important from what I gather after talking to an advisor (remembered me from the essay). Aso being instate probably helps.

I applied for fall so no comment.

You’ve got the grades to get in, I think it will be a situation based on spots available in the program.

I transferred in last winter, and got my notice of admission on November 9th, after submitting it on September 8th. I also had bad grades in high school, and a mediocre ACT (especially the math portion).

I also took the time to visit the school and talk with the transfer admissions counselor, Gary Deguzman. He was a really cool guy and seem generally interested in talking with me. It may be late to go in and talk with him if you haven’t already, since the transfer application deadline is in a couple days. I would assume you’ve visited the campus already since you’re so close.

Good luck. Did you apply anywhere else? I got into a couple other schools but you can’t beat the in-state tuition as a transfer student.

@ Magneto:
I did posted on transfer student as well as in University of Michigan but i didn’t got a lot of comment so I think about post in Engineering major than some students had same situation like me (transfer to higher university). and about chance i only believe 80% if they said 100%. I agree that it just waste of time but it dependence on how much you are getting knowledge…but some point yea wasting time. thank you for your time.

@IndianPwnerDude:
“that they have a shot (or perhaps honesty when they have absolutely no shot).”
I know… a lot of student have no shot but if comment will be honest than when he/she hear decision it will be less hurt…
thank you for your time…
which state r u from India ? international student ??

@TossAway:
thank you…
how’s going in ME ? which year ?
any difficult classes ?

@chasely:
thank you…

I did visit coe couple of time…it’s very very good. I like there.
I did applied Wayne State University… but i really want to go U of M !!

after decision to u of M…let’s say accepted than what i have to do ?
go to orientation (what i have to do there ?) … do we have to take any exam ? anything else ?

thank you so much.

UM Ann Arbor Engineering works pretty much solely on GPA and as far as I know admits everyone who meets the GPA requirements, which you do. It gets students from Schoolcraft all the time. I’d be really surprised if you didn’t get in.

That said, the transition out of CC to UM engineering is rough. Keep a light load the first term and expect to work much much harder than you ever have before…

As I suspect you know, the requirements are listed at [Michigan Engineering | Admission Requirements](http://www.engin.umich.edu/ugadmissions/transfer/requirements.html). If you meet those, you should be golden.

@Hobit2:
yup I know the requirements everything complete except programing course which i am taking right now… yes i heard that a lot “Keep a light load the first term and expect to work much much harder than you ever have before…” it little bit scary me…

which engineering are you in ?
